This Privacy Policy explains what information the SpectraCrop iOS app (the “App”) collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. “SpectraCrop”, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to the provider of the App and of the SpectraCrop service.
Data controller: SPECTRACROP ApS, Hovedgaden 55 Hellevad, 6230 Roedekro, Denmark, info@spectracrop.com.
The App does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, does not show advertising, does not contain analytics or advertising software, and we do not sell your personal information.
To use the App you create an account with:
When you sign in, our server issues a session identifier, which the App stores securely in the iOS Keychain to keep you signed in.
Readings you create or download from your SpectraCrop meter are stored on your phone and, when you sync, on our server, linked to your account. A reading contains:
Location is optional. The App only accesses your location while you are using it, and only when you switch on “Use Current Location” for a reading. The precise location is then stored with that reading. You can enter a location by hand instead, or save readings without one. The App does not track your location in the background.
The App generates an identifier for this installation (based on Apple’s identifier for vendor), stores it in the iOS Keychain, and sends it with requests to our server so the server can recognise the installation, for example for session management. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
The App uses Bluetooth to find and connect to your SpectraCrop meter and download the readings stored on it. While doing so it uses the meter’s name, its Bluetooth identifier and signal strength on your phone only. These are not sent to our server, except the meter’s name in a support email you choose to send (section 6).
The App keeps a short diagnostic log on your phone: the last 500 events, such as Bluetooth connection steps, commands sent to the meter, server status codes and error codes. It does not contain passwords, session identifiers, your location or the content of your readings.
The log stays on your phone. It is only sent to us if you choose Contact Support and send the resulting email. That email also includes the App version, iOS version, phone model, the name of your meter, your account email and any error code. You can review and edit the email before sending it, and it is sent with your own email app.
